A lot of people wonder why I stopped drinking in the first place, as it is sometimes not obvious to others when someone has issues with alcohol. To outsiders, I probably seemed happy and fine, admittedly not very successful, but I appeared ok I think. Fortunately, people cannot see inside my head, because that was a different story. I was deeply depressed, anxious and full of self hatred. like I explain in this video, it was really just a realisation that unless I made drastic changes and gave up alcohol, my life was not going to get better…ever! Also, as a side note, I don’t really consider myself a ‘recovered alcoholic’ just someone who used to use alcohol in a very destructive way, but don’t anymore. Also, although I was in AA, and would recommend it to others, it is not the only way to get sober. I know other people in different programs who are doing well. The common ground is we all work on the core issues that caused us to drink in the first place, and have a good support network of sober friends. Please let me know your recovery program in the comments! Follow for daily Sobriety support and inspiration. Love always xx #stopdrinking #getsober #soberwomen #sobriety #sobertiktok
